 Hi, My name is Hope. I got my name beacause my Mom adopted me around the Christmas Holidays. I was just a little tiny thing when she took me home, but she had another dog at home "Sable" & he thought I was just great! He took me under his wing and showed me around and taught me all I needed to know about how to wrap Mom around my little paw! Mom had been bringing Sable to Best Friends for a long time, so now I get to come & stay too. As you can see, I just love to roll around in the grass. Ahh, Summer....

   BEFORE

 Hi, My name is Buddy.  My mom rescued me from an abusive home.  Someone was very mean to me & would hit me in the head.  That's why my right eye doesn't open all the way.   I can be very scared of new people, but the folks at Best Friends were VERY patient with me!  I don't like anyone to touch my face or head unless I know them very well, so I tend to get a lot of mats on my head and in my beard.  I let Sara, the groomer, shave all the mats off my face & boy do I feel good now!  The 1st thing I did was rolled my face on my blankey, I hadn't been able to feel that good scratching thing for a long while!

Hello, my name is Tigg and I am 3 yr old lab mix. I love coming to Best Friends to stay because I get so many hugs and kisses I never know that I'm not at home!! The playtimes here are the best! Going outside, chasing the Kong and getting a good old belly rub. Good times! Come on in to Best Friends and see what I am talking about!!

Groom of the Week

Hello, I'm Izzy! I am a 6 old schnauzer mix. This was my first time coming to best friends and I was in need of a new summer do. Tina was my groomer today and I feel like a whole new dog! Not only do I have a new summer do but I got to donate my fur to Matter of Trust! They are helping to clean up the oil spill in the Gulf Coast. Come to Best Friends and get a bath, haircut, shedicure or even just a nail trim!!

Party time at the Indy 500!

Yes, once again our DayCamp puppies got to party hardy! This time it was our Indy 500 party. Race Day fans beware; Best Friends let the dogs out!

Patrick found the perfect vantage point to watch the racing excitement. Don't anyone try and take the chasir away from the *Captain*!

Jackson decided higher was better, this way he can see over the piles of fur racing around the yard.

Some decided that racing and watching can be hot work and decided to chill back and just be *cool*!

And the race is on! In the lead is Cooper quickly followed by Joey, with Lucy in a distant third.

Joey is telling everyone how it feels to be the Race Day Winner and Ziggy is calling for a *fowl*!

As you can see, we all have a lot of fun on party days. Keep us in mind if you have an over achieving very energetic fur-friend. Best Friends DayCamp is a wonderful SAFE place for your pet to be to exercise his or her basic right to play and party hardy!

HI! My name is Dreyfus. I am a Collie mix, an older boy really, but as my mommy says, the best boy ever! I like to come see my groomer at Best Friends because they understand my age and the need to rest often. They take such great care of me and I always look, feel, and smell so terrific when they are done. Other then the kisses I get here and at home and my dinner and goodies, what more could an older gent like me wish for?

miniature size, and the apple of my families eyes. Because I am an older *gent*, everyone at Best Friends takes extra special care of me. I get lots of loving, a nice soft bed, and carried out for my *personal
business.* My family gets me extra cuddle times when I stay at Best Friends, and I have to say they are the BEST! I get cuddles, kisses and belly rubs! What more could an older boy like me ever want?

Hi! My name is Molly. I'm a wild and wonderful girl full of fun, life and love. I love

it when I stay at Best Friends because it's like having a party every day and I AM a party animal! Everyone at Best Friends takes such great care of me. When daddy drops me off to stay I'm happy and kissing everyone. This is MY favorite vacation destination!

Gulf Coast Oil Spill, hairy help is on the way!

A non profit organization called Matter of Trust is collecting donations of clean hair and fur of all kinds to clean up the oil in the ocean. Hair is hydrophobic which means it repels water, it is also great for absorbing oil (greasy hair means that hair collects oil). So Matter of Trust has volunteers making devices called hair mats and hair booms out of recycled hair and nylons- which are then placed in the water to soak up the oil.

This is a great opportunity for us to help in this time of crisis! Our furry little 4 legged friends are helping those on the coast! So when you book your dog or cat for a groom, we are going to be donating the fur to Matter of Trust. Now is a perfect time for the furry ones to come in for their "summer do's", why not help out a good cause! Thank you for your help with this!

Cinco de Mayo daycamp party

CINCO DE MAYO

II YII YII YYIIIIII!!!

Party time came again this week in time for the Cinco De Mayo celebration. No tacos allowed but plenty of fun and goodies for all. Rosie has the Sombreo look down pat, but Buddy, co-operative though he was, would have prefered Siesta time instead!

Spanky on the other hand was more than ready to play the part of the Bandito, stealing hearts and treats alike! We play, we party, we have a good time, astested by the smile on Mulligan's face. They all love party time just as much as we did and the owners all get an adorable picture to take home with them. Party time had well over a dozen revelers, but we always have room for more. Keep us in mind for our next DayCamp party, just in time for the Indy 500, on May 20th.
