Hello, my name is Chesney and aren't I just too cute?!? I'm a English Setter, and I love coming to Best Friends! I have been coming to Best Friends since I was 3 months old which was only 3 months ago! I'm still 100% pup and my mom and dad are SOO excited that I am old enough to do the Play N Stay now! I get to make new friends and get out all that puppy energy so I can sleep at night for one low rate! I know, its the best right?!? But they also have other options if you aren't into playing with other fuzzy friends, you can play with the non-fuzzy ones on two feet for the same price! Well enough about me, I'm off.....Puppy Power!!!

Hello, I'm Joey. I am a 1 year old Border Collie Mix. I have been attending Doggie Day Camp for 5 months now. But I'm no newbie!!! In fact I am one of the ring leaders in camp!!

You see in DDC we all develop a very tight friendship and our friendship is un-breakable(not even for cookies! We share!)! We may play rough and sound funny at times, but you know thats when we are having the best time!! Pools, Kongs, Nylabones, Lovins and great friends.

What else could a happy dog want?

Hello, my name is Sasha and I am a 6 1/2 year old grey kitty. I just recently spent 17 days with my buddies at Best Friends in Kitty City. Arent I just as handsome as can be? Along with being a frisky feline I am also a talker!! I let everyone know where I am and that I am ready to play!! I love to be petted and snuggled(as you can see)! I actually fell asleep in Jessica's hand!! So if you are wanting some extra snugglin' and a fun place to relax, come and visit Best Friends!!

Lightening Safety Week

As you have all noticed we have had a very active spring when it comes to the thunder/lightening storms the midwest is so *famous* for. The week of June 21-27, 2010 is Lightening Safety Week. This not only means safety for us humans but for our pets as well! Here are just a few common sense reminders for our pets during a lightening storm.

Pets & Farm Animals


You are responsible for your animals, they cannot protect themselves.

Do not leave your pet outdoors during a lightning storm. They are particularly susceptible to step-voltage from a near-by lightning strike.

80% of accidental outdoor animal deaths occur from lightning.

Replace metal collars and metal leashes with plastic.

Do not chain an animal to a tree during a lightning storm or attach to a metal exercise wire.

Provide a lightning safe shelter for your pet(s) and farm animals

Remember Your Pets

Dog houses are not safe shelters. Dogs that are chained to trees or chained to wire runners can easily fall victim to a lightning strike. Bring pets inside.

Please remember to keep yourselves AND your pets safe!

Doggie DayCamp party time!

HI. My name is Soloman. Today is my very first time in DayCamp and I got to experience one of Best Friends fabulous parties. This time it was the June Ice Cream Socail. And let me tell you....we had a HOWLING good time!

Annie and Lulu are proving to be the best Howlers, expressing their joy over Party Time! 

Lucky is trying SO hard to get to the ice cream at the very bottom but his tongue is proving to be less then helpful.....

So why not just dive in head first??

Everyone says Spanky would be the perfect Undercover Officer...here he checks to see if any one is watching and not really caring that they are before he too dives in tongue first to get all the yummy goodness at the bottom!

Uhoh...Cooper ate to fast! Wait...wait...Ice Cream headahce!

Ahhh that too has passed and now...his tummy is happy!

Our next DayCamp party is our Summer Solstice...why not join us for all the fun?

Party time at the Indy 500!

Yes, once again our DayCamp puppies got to party hardy! This time it was our Indy 500 party. Race Day fans beware; Best Friends let the dogs out!

Patrick found the perfect vantage point to watch the racing excitement. Don't anyone try and take the chasir away from the *Captain*!

Jackson decided higher was better, this way he can see over the piles of fur racing around the yard.

Some decided that racing and watching can be hot work and decided to chill back and just be *cool*!

And the race is on! In the lead is Cooper quickly followed by Joey, with Lucy in a distant third.

Joey is telling everyone how it feels to be the Race Day Winner and Ziggy is calling for a *fowl*!

As you can see, we all have a lot of fun on party days. Keep us in mind if you have an over achieving very energetic fur-friend. Best Friends DayCamp is a wonderful SAFE place for your pet to be to exercise his or her basic right to play and party hardy!

Cinco de Mayo daycamp party

CINCO DE MAYO

II YII YII YYIIIIII!!!

Party time came again this week in time for the Cinco De Mayo celebration. No tacos allowed but plenty of fun and goodies for all. Rosie has the Sombreo look down pat, but Buddy, co-operative though he was, would have prefered Siesta time instead!

Spanky on the other hand was more than ready to play the part of the Bandito, stealing hearts and treats alike! We play, we party, we have a good time, astested by the smile on Mulligan's face. They all love party time just as much as we did and the owners all get an adorable picture to take home with them. Party time had well over a dozen revelers, but we always have room for more. Keep us in mind for our next DayCamp party, just in time for the Indy 500, on May 20th.

Meet The Staff

MEET THE STAFF
JESSICA EARLY

Jessica started with Best Friends Pet Care in Indianapolis just before the Christmas holidays. She came in full of confidence and quickly followed through with her expertise. She started off helping in our kennels, getting to know our four legged clients. Unable to help herself from falling in love with them all, she has proved to be invaluable as a staff member.

Once the holidays passed and she was able to begin her training in our front lobby as a Lead CSR. Jessica learned the ropes quickly and has since been promoted to her position of hire as a Manager Intern.

Jessica shares her home with her three Siberian Huskies, Alaska, Denali and Kodiak and her Main Coon kitty, Romeo. They come to work with her and hang out on certain days, or they join some of our daycamp friends for some much needed playtime. In Jessica's spare time she likes to play with her trio, taking them to the parks or just hanging out playing at home.

When she is just trying to let her brain relax Jessica likes to engross her mind deeply into Reality TV or by watching comedies and cartoon type movies (go Roger Rabbit!)

Though you will often times see Jessica on the front desk working, her most favorite thing about working at Best Friends is in working with the four legged clients that come in to us. Jesscia says she loves the look on the human clients faces when they pick up their beloved fur-kids. They look so happy and thankful!
Please help us all in welcoming Jessica aboard our crew here. In the famous words of Mr. Spock...may you *live long and prosper* here at Best Friends!

Doggy Daycamp Parties

Mark you calendars!    Come one, come all!  Our schedule is now set for our upcoming Day Camp parties.   Of course the 1st upcoming party will be in celebration of our Indianapolis Colts going to the Super Bowl.  Our own version of the Super Bowl will be held on Thursday, February 4th, 2010 and is open to all campers!  Paw painting, pictures and special party favors will be given to all attendees.   There will be an award given for best dressed 4-legged Colt's fan!

  February is going to be a busy month for celebrations.  We will also host a day camp party on February the 12th in honor of Valentine's day.   Shortly after that get ready for the Mardi Gras party on Tuesday, February 16th.

If your dog hasn't had the priviledge of attending our day camp, now is the time to enroll.  We have extended our 10 day promotional packages for new clients until 3-31-10.  Buy 10 days of camp for only $90.00.  There is no enrollment fee and your 1st day of camp is free.  Don't let your dog miss out on the fun!
